Phoebe Woods and the lower half of our Animal Walkway is currently closed. All the animals still housed on the walkway will be moved to the top end so you can still visit them but please note many have already been moved to their winter accommodation. Still out to see are the alpacas, goats, ponies, pigs and rabbits. The duck feeding area will not be accessible.
Millets Animal Walkway is adjacent to the fishing lakes, set in beautiful countryside behind the Farm Shop and Restaurants.
We have a small selection of farm animals including goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, duck/swan/geese feeding area and alpacas. We also have three gorgeous Rheas, which are currently in their indoor housing due to Avian influenza (bird flu) and all birds have to be in 'lockdown'. Every year we are also lucky to have donkeys on loan from Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary - a registred charity, based near Wallingford that cares for abused and ill-treated donkeys. They will be back with us in April.
Our Animal Walkway is our look & see area so please don't feed the animals, no matter what they say! We advise not to touch, but if you do handwashing facilities are provided by the play area. Some animals may bite so avoid getting too close!
Towards the bottom of the walkway we have a dedicated area where duck food can be thrown for our water fowl visitors to enjoy. Please try and avoid feeding our lake residents bread, as this is like fast food for them and not great for their health. Special duck food is available to purchase in the Farm Shop.
Please note: During the winter months, most of our animals are moved into their winter accommodation so will not be in their usual enclosures. They return in the spring.
Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead.
